WhatsApp has been rolling out series of features and updates, and one of them is AI that generates suggested replies based on the conversations that are available on your chats. Other features and updates that are coming to the messaging app are: a new way to free up storage, the ability to customize photos with Meta AI, and more.
However, “Writing Help”—feature that helps users draft messages—is the most noticeable update that hit the messaging app. The feature was first launched in August 2025 and it's been helping users to rephrase and proofread. Meta said it's launched this update so that users will not have to go-to ChatGPT or external tools when drafting messages.
Meta said the chats remain private even if people use Writing Help. To use the Writing Help feature on your WhatsApp app, follow the explanation below:
- Open WhatsApp and tap the chat bar.
- Select the stickers icon in the typing field.
- Now, tap the pencil icon with a sparkle effect to access the AI feature.
Furthermore, WhatsApp now supports the option to move chat history from iOS to Android easily without the need for a third-party services. In addition to that, stickers are also getting updates. Whatsapp will now suggest specific ones to users when they type emojis so they can swap them out with a sticker.
How the “Free Space” works
Instead of you finding files to delete so that your space can be freed to give room for the app to work properly, WhatsApp has now safe you from the stress. The messaging app can now help you find and delete large files directly within any chat.
This means you can remove only what you don’t need without deleting the entire conversation. For example, you might choose to clear just the media files while keeping your chat history intact.
Furthermore, the Meta AI's abilities to touch up image, as mentioned earlier, works in the sense of removing something distracting in an image, changing the image background, or applying a new style to the image.
Updates for iOS users
The ability to login two accounts at a time is now available on iOS app. This feature is already available on Android for years ago, but Meta just decided to bring it to iOS now. This feature lets you use two WhatsApp accounts on the same device at the same time.
Instead of logging out of one account to access another, you can add both and switch between them whenever you need. Each account runs independently, so your chats, notifications, and settings stay separate.
Once both are set up, you can move between them with just a few taps. It's idea for managing personal and work conversations separately in one interface.
However, it's important to note that all these new features and updates are rolling out now and will be available to all users soon, WhatsApp clarified.
