The ability to edit comments is one of the most requested features on Instagram. Now, the Meta-owned platform has fulfilled users' wish by launching the small but useful update. Comments editing is now live on the Instagram app, giving users the ability to edit their comments.
Before now, users who made mistakes in comments usually deleted and reposted the comments to correct their mistakes.
However, it's important to note that despite the fact that Instagram now gives users the ability to edit comments, you only have up to 15 minutes from the initial post's time to make any edit or correction. Once the time lapses, you'll no longer be allowed to edit the comments.
editing Instagram comments is here 🗣️ now you can make changes within 15 minutes of posting.

Like how WhatsApp’s edit works, people will be able to see that your comment was edited. In addition to that, editing images is not possible yet. This means you can only edit text comments on your Instagram account. If your comment contains both images and text, you'll only be allowed to edit the text alone.
How to edit comments on Instagram
Follow these steps if you want to edit your comments on Instagram:
- Open the Instagram app on your phone and go to the post where you left the comment.
- Find your comment in the comment section, tap and hold the comment. You can also tap the three dots next to it if your device has the three dots options.
- Select “Edit” from the options that appear and make your changes to the comment.
- Once you're done correcting the comments, tap “Done” to update your comment.
Note: You only have up to 15 minutes after posting the comment to edit it. After that, the edit option will no longer be available.
Another thing you need to note is that Instagram is just rolling out this feature, and users have already spotted it in testing. So, if you're not seeing the edit option now, it's either it's not been rollout to you or your Instagram app is outdated. You may need to update your app from your device app store.
